Rejections… Obsessions and Lust And love for Rock’ n’ roll, are some of the few things that fuelled up 4 friends to unite and create a no bullshit, straight forward, old school rock band.Combining powerful hard-rock riffs, heart-felt lyrics, and catchy choruses that stick to your ears like candy, Rejects United are influenced by the good old Rock (Guns’ n’ Roses, Foo Fighters, Danko Jones) Punk/Hardcore/Emo (My chemical romance, Everytime I Die, Dashboard Confessional) and even Metal( Pantera, Metallica, Atreyu).
Every member of the band has already some years of experience in the music scene: João Campos (vocalist, rhythm guitar) played in Infatuation J., Same Old Suspects, Vitor Calado (bassist) came from Black Nepal, Micky Eight and Buckle Up, Paulo Spinola the lead guitarist played in Buckle Up and Same Old Suspects, and last but not least the drummer Rodrigo Alves plays in Tara Perdida and has played in the bands Starvan, Summer of Damien, and Micky Eight.
They released their debut ep “Rebound Aftermath” in 2005, receiving positive feedback from radio’s and public, playing in venues all around their home country Portugal. The band then returned to Generator Studios in 2007 to record their debut album “BOYHOOD SURVIVAL KIT”with the help of Miguel Marques(Devil in Me, Aside, More Than a Thousand, Easyway)and mastered by Alan Douches(Misfist, Mastodon, Ben Folds Five) in West West Side Studios in New York, producing an album that is a blend a blend of powerful rock riffs, punk angst, big vocal hooks that take you through a history of love madness and despair. The album was released early 2008 July through LOCKJAW RECORDS(UK) and COMPACT RECORDS(PT), giving them the chance to tour in England with A NEW DAY, and play with bands as CRAZY ARM and LYU. Now with the BSK closed, R.U. are closed in their “home studio” pre-producing new songs and sounds for a new E.P., marking a new phase in their evolution as musicians. KEEP IN TUNE…
